GSC Game World has been teasing its Stalker 2 1.5 update for months now with tonnes of new additions coming to the open-world game. Alongside the release of two new weapons, the massive update is expected to come with the release of beta SDK tools for modders to create massive new experiences.

As the Q2 2025 roadmap comes to an end, this massive update is also expected to bring Mutant Loot, A-Life improvements and a suite of new changes to the game. For example, GSC confirmed that partial reloads will be coming to the game for all weapons. But when does Update 1.5 release?

GSC teases Stalker 2 1.5 update

In a post on social media, GSC Game World teased that Stalker 2 Update 1.5 would launch tomorrow on Xbox Series consoles and PC. While no specific date was mentioned, or a specific time, the developer’s less-than-subtle wording makes it seem obvious that we will get the massive update tomorrow.

“Three-line rifle is waiting for you!” the developer told fans with a video of the game’s brand-new WW2-era weapon. “See you in the Zone tomorrow, stalkers.” In another message to fans, the company also said that they’re “Aiming for Wednesday release day” which is tomorrow.

Hot.

Alongside teasing the game’s long-awaited 1.5 update, GSC also confirmed that a Q3 roadmap with even more fixes and improvements is also coming. This upcoming roadmap will detail the plans for Stalker 2 from the months of July 2025 to the end of September.

“Yes, there will be a Q3 roadmap,” the studio told fans. While the studio hasn’t revealed what the roadmap will entail, the team has been adamant of its plans to reintroduce cut content and continue improving its A-Life AI systems.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl launched in a pretty rough state, but the team has continued to improve the game with every update. With expansions on the way that offer new perspectives on the Zone, there’s still a lot in the works for the brilliant, albeit flawed, shooter.
