Glenn

Sword‑Wielding Boss That Punishes Impatience

Glenn Boss in FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time

You’ll find Glenn on Swolean Island after you complete the tournament. He shows up on the beach and challenges you with one consistent pattern: a slow, predictable four-hit sword combo. His style is more about timing than chaos, which means this fight is all about watching closely and knowing when to move.

To defeat him, wait for him to raise his sword. That’s your signal to back away immediately. He’ll follow with four swings in quick succession. Don’t try to tank them or sneak in a hit mid-combo. Just dodge and stay out of range. Once he finishes that last swing, there’s a short pause and that’s your opening. Hit him fast, then get ready to back off again. The whole fight loops around that pattern. If you rush or get greedy, you’ll likely eat a combo. But if you stay patient and only strike when it’s safe, you’ll wear him down without much trouble, and walk away with only 30,000 EXP and no Dosh.

5

Frajeel

Strike between Combos and Rely on Status Effects

Frajeel Boss in FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time

Just like Glenn, Frajeel fights with a sword. Frajeel’s swings come in a set rhythm, so the trick is to stay alert, dodge at the right moment and punish him only after he finishes his attacks. If you try to interrupt his sequence mid-combo, you’re likely to get clipped.

One of the more effective ways to deal with him is to bring a buddy who can pull aggro, especially if they can inflict status effects. One of the best Lives to usehere is Hunter, since it has effects like paralysis. This buys you more time to land clean hits and take pressure off you. Whether you’re using a ranged class or getting up close, wait until he overcommits to a combo, then move in with your strikes before backing off again. If your timing is solid, the fight becomes manageable. You will get 30,000 EXP for taking down Frajeel.

4

Eternia Woolie

It Shoots a Wave Beam in a Straight Line

Eternia Woolie FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time

Eternia Woolie is one of those bosses that looks bigger than the trouble it actually causes. This oversized wool-covered creature is at level 50 and drops 40,000 EXP when you take it down. More importantly, it gives you the Eternian Fleece. Woolie doesn’t run around or swing wildly like some bosses. Instead, it focuses on firing a wave beam in a straight line.

What makes this fight so manageable is how telegraphed the beam attack is. You’ll see it coming, and if you’re already in a good position, and out of its line of sight, you’re golden. Just move in for a few hits, then shift around to avoid the next beam. Rinse and repeat. You don’t need any complex debuffs or buddy tactics here. It’s a clean, simple fight built around knowing where to stand.

3

Guardian Hagram

Stay Behind, Bait Aggro, and Strike

Guardian Hagram Boss in FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time

Guardian Hagram’s whole attack pattern is front-facing. Every swing or smash comes straight ahead, which means the back of the boss is your safe zone. If you stand behind him, you’re mostly out of danger. Your buddies are important here too. Let them grab his attention, then circle around and hit him from behind while he’s busy.

If Hagram turns and starts targeting you, don’t panic. Back off, wait for your allies to pull him away again, then reposition yourself and get back in. Trying to fight him head-on usually ends with you getting hit. His attacks are slow but heavy, so you’re better off sticking to safe openings instead of trying to rush him down. At the end, you will get 50,000 EXP for your troubles.

2

Gear-Xernes

Avoid Spinning Beams, Dodge Combos and Strike After its Sweep Move

Gear-Xernes FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time

Gear-Xernes waits for you in the Cog of Time, right at the tail end of Chapter 7. For a boss that rewards you with 100,000 EXP, Gear-Xernes is surprisingly easy to beat. Its main attacks are spinning beam moves and sweeping physical combos, and if you stand in the wrong spot, you’ll eat a lot of damage fast.

Just about everything wants to kill you, but who does it the best?

The most dangerous part of this fight is the spinning beam attack. When you see it charging up, get to the outer edge of the arena. There’s more space out there to safely slip between the beams. If you attack while it’s mid-combo, you’ll likely get knocked back or worse. Wait it out, find the gap, land a few solid strikes and then reposition before the next pattern starts.

1

Dark Dragon

Go with a Light Buddy and Dodge Its Invulnerable Phases

Dark Dragon Boss in FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time

The real key to defeating the Dark Dragon is preparation. You have to first defeat the Wyrmheart in Fort Gardhart before the Dark Dragon shows up. If you don’t, you’ll be swinging at a wall. The dragon likes to toss out bombs, but those are more of a gift than a threat. Let them land, then strike them to send them flying back at the boss for free damage.

You’ll want to bring Laura or another buddy who uses Light-based attacks since the dragon is a Dark-type. There are moments where the dragon shifts phases. During those times, it becomes invincible, so don’t bother using your big moves. Just wait it out, then get back to work when it becomes vulnerable again. For all that work, you will be rewarded with 70,000 EXP.
