The Lenovo Legion Go S runs SteamOS, beats the Steam Deck, and it’s discounted right now — so I had to try it

As you’ll know if you’ve been around RPS for a while, we love the Steam Deck. Valve’s system blends the library and options of a PC with the portability and ease of use of a console, and a big part of that is Steam OS.
With Valve rolling the OS out to other devices, the Lenovo Legion Go S is a great handheld option that goes beyond what’s offered by the Steam Deck in terms of power.
Better yet, it’s on sale at Best Buy as part of its 4th of July sale, which has lowered the prices of both the high-end AMD Z1 Extreme and the AMD Ryzen Z2 models.

The SteamOS version of the Lenovo Legion Go S only launched in May of this year, but you can get one for as low as $549.99.
For that, you get the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go model which has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage, along with a big 8-inch screen with 120Hz refresh rate.
You can also grab a Legion Go S model with the more powerful AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme which also doubles the RAM and storage.
