Where to Find Master Alchemy Tools in Oblivion Remastered

Where to Find Master Alchemy Tools in Oblivion Remastered

Crafting your potions is a major gameplay system in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Creating new potions for various situations will not only get you out of difficult situations, but also net you more gold if you choose to sell them to NPCs. The more you craft potions, the more you are going to need higher-ranked versions of the Mortar and Pestle, Retort, Calcinator, and Alembic.

To further your alchemy journey, you’ll need to start a fairly lengthy questline.

Before Master Alchemy tools drop in select dungeons, you will have to get to level 17. This is the level where the world will begin making a potential drop for dungeons, but that doesn’t mean it is guaranteed. One of the best dungeons to explore easily and gain the tools faster will be available once you have gone through the Mages Guild series of quests. You can join the Mages Guild by going through each of the major cities surrounding the Imperial City, doing tasks for each of the leaders, and gaining recommendations from them to gain access to The Arcane University.

These Master tools for alchemy can only be found in specific dungeons, most notably in the Conjurer and Necromancer dungeons featured in the Mage Guild quests. Necromancer dungeons are heavily featured in the quests, allowing you some decent chances to get your tools as you progress through their storyline.

One of the best dungeons for getting the Master Tools will be Echo Cave. The reason this is the best spot is that it has five total boss chests for you to loot. If you save right before you enter, you can either clear the cave or run to each chest individually. If the chest does not have your Master Tool, you can reload the save and repeat until you’ve gained the item you desire. Another good location that allows you to quickly get your items is the Moss Rock Cavern. While it may not have nearly as many boss chests, it still has a few that do have that drop chance for these new Alchemist Tools.

Locations are reset every 72 hours in-game, meaning you can loot each location and rest at an inn to repeat the process. If you aren’t getting the desired item drops, you can keep at it, exploring and clearing your way through Cyrodiil until you can craft your desired potions. Alchemy in Oblivion Remastered gives you the ability to make countless unique potions, making these tools a must-have if you are looking to create potions for every available scenario, as well as making some extra gold on the side.
