Wine 10.8 released with user handles in shared memory for better performance

The Wine 10.8 development release is out now for the Windows compatibility layer bringing with it various bug fixes, along with user handles in shared memory for better performance. And, in case you missed it somehow, Proton 10 that uses Wine 10 is currently in Beta. There was also a new release of GE-Proton using Wine 10 too.

The highlights of the Wine 10.8 release include:

  • User handles in shared memory for better performance.
  • Improvements to TIFF image support.
  • More work on the new PDB backend.
  • Various bug fixes.

Some bug fixes were noted for Final Fantasy XI Online, Defiance, Vegas Pro 14, Adobe Lightroom Classic 10.4 and other miscellaneous fixes.
