3rd person narrative horror MEGANAUT from the dev of Lorn’s Lure gets a demo

The developer of the exploration climbing game Lorn’s Lure is working on a new game named MEGANAUT, a 3rd person narrative horror and now there’s a demo available with Linux support.

It’s set in the same universe as Lorn’s Lure and while the setting is quite different being a horror game, it also brings its own unique floating movement mechanic. From the press details I was sent they said it’s “Inspired by Dead Space’s zero gravity sections and Abzu’s swimming mechanics; it allows for the slower paced tension of horror, combined with the 3D traversal that the megastructure affords”.

About the full game:

Your friend Seija, went too far beyond the habitat walls and is now missing in the deep structure.

As a Scavenger, you have some expertise beyond the walls.

You volunteer to search for him.

Features

  • Float through a mysterious megastructure with 6 degrees of freedom.
  • Thick with oppressive and creepy atmosphere.
  • Simple environmental puzzles that don’t take you out of the atmosphere.
  • Some jump scares.
  • Discover deep lore beyond the main story arc.
  • Concise experience, roughly 2-3 hours of play time.

You can try the demo from the demo Steam page.
