Merging the worlds of Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead and TF2 – Fortress Connected is coming to Steam
The total mash-up mod Fortress Connected has been announced for a Steam release where the worlds of Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 collide.
If it sounds a bit familiar you might be thinking of Lambda Fortress that’s also coming to Steam which GamingOnLinux covered previously. In fact, Fortress Connected is built on top of it and so they’re doing a very similar thing. However, Fortress Connected clearly has much bigger goals with more games and modes supported.
Check out the trailer:
Highlights:
- The ability to play through: Half-Life 2 and its episodes, Left 4 Dead 1, and more as the TF2 cast alone or with friends.
- Full Half-Life 2: Deathmatch support with a TDM gamemode.
- Old and new custom classes based on new designs or familiar faces from other mods.
- Custom coop campaign experiences with updating support for more in the future.
- New weapons, buildables, and achievements.
- Support for your entire TF2 inventory.
- Special features like: Grenades, Armour, and more.
- New types of enemies and allies you can find in your adventures.
- Steam Workshop support for custom mods and maps.
- All this and more to come in the future.
We’re going to see more of this since Valve opened up the Source SDK with the code for TF2.
