SteamOS 3.7.6 Preview for Steam Deck released, fixing a DOOM: The Dark Ages launch issue
Ahead of the release of DOOM: The Dark Ages on May 15th, Valve have released an update for SteamOS for Steam Deck to get it to actually run.
That doesn’t mean it will actually perform well, just that the game will actually run on SteamOS. Good for when Valve actually release that Beta for more devices too. Considering DOOM: The Dark Ages has Ray Tracing as a requirement, it probably wasn’t going to run great on the Steam Deck.
From the changelog:
SteamOS 3.7.6 Preview: It Runs DOOM
Note: This update is for the Steam Deck Preview channel, and includes new features that are still being tested. You can opt into this in Settings > System > System Update Channel.
General
- Fixed a launch failure with DOOM: The Dark Ages.
